Although I’ll admit to watching the occasional Kardashian disaster, I really am not a fan of that family. Until recently.
It was time for my every few monthly hair appointment and I drove the long 30 minutes excited to catch up with my bff hairdresser. That’s where I catch up with her and where I update myself on the going-ons of the world, namely the going-ons of US Weekly and People.

So anyway, as I was catching up with the news, I came across an article from a month old mag about Khloe Kardashian and I’ve gotta say, she kinda got it right. The article was titled, “My Marriage Comes First” and it chronicled her and Lamar Odom’s marriage and the steps they’re both taking to make it work. The main step being the decision to not resign for another season of “Khloe and Lamar” so the pressure would be off Lamar and he could get back to his hoops.
“Down to earth” isn’t commonly used to describe the Kardashians, but reading this I was impressed with Khloe’s down to earth-ness. I was particularly impressed with her commitment to her marriage, one the media targeted to fail from the beginning. But for being a Kardashian, she had some really good insight in how to make a marriage work.
“Part of being married is knowing when your husband needs support” Amen, sister. A big role as wives is to support our main squeezes and I think that often gets lost. Apparently I needed little Kardashian style reminder to keep me supporting my man and his dreams.
“I think what makes marriage work is honesty, loyalty and prioritizing.” True Dat. I’m going to go make Merrick a priority Right. NOW… just as soon as I finish this post. And emailing. And… crap. Dang KoKo is schooling me in marriage!(I call all my celeb bffs by our nick names. She calls me KayKay)
This one is my favorite quote. Especially when she says Divorce is NOT an option and that a wife SHOULD put her husband first.
You go, Glen-KoKo! You rock that marriage! Now if only Kim had seen this article around day 71 of her marriage…
